Q. What is the muck policy on using objects? Can feline paws be used like hands?
Can I pose my character making things or wearing jewellery?
 
A. Props (objects carried/used ICly by characters) have somewhat limited
uses on Sunrise.
 
Feline/canine paws do not have opposable thumbs - basically, that means
they cannot grasp. They also can't use both front paws at once! It's no
problem to pose grasping someone's tail, or hugging them, or anything else
that's not quite realistic but just fun RP - but only species with fine
control of their hands, trunks etc can handle fiddly objects. (Of course, you
can use your mouth within reason.)
 
Primates - monkeys and apes - can use their two hands both to grasp and
manipulate objects. That means that primates have a much easier time doing
things like using herbs and plants as medicine, combining objects and pulling
ticks out of fur. (Yummy!) Any species can be a shaman, but because
four-legged animals can't gather and manipulate medicinal ingredients as
easily as animals with a pair of hands, they may need to get creative with
ways of making medicine. See this as an opportunity - things that your
character finds difficult make fun RP!
 
No Sunrise characters, even primates, can actually craft an object into
something else. That means no jewellery, no weapons or bags or anything like
that. What primates in particular CAN do is use natural resources creatively.
Want to make flowers into a daisy chain and put them around a friend's neck?
Go ahead. Want to fling poo? DO IT! XD
